چکیده
Numerical bremsstrahlung cross sections for different ceramic compounds like Alumina (Al2O3), beryllia (BeO), ceria (CeO), Zirconia (ZrO2) were calculated by using Zmod of metallic compounds at different incident electron energies (10 keV,20 keV and 30 keV) in the photon energy regions of energy (1-10 keV,1-20 keV and 1-30 keV). The cross sections were calculated by using Elwert corrected (non relativistic) Bethe Heitler (1934) theory for ordinary

Shielding simulations for safe use of curtain electron accelerator by MCNP4C
In an electron curtain accelerator, when the electron beam passes through the titanium exit window of the accelerator chamber, X-ray photons are produced as a negative by-product of retarding accelerated electrons. Controlling the produced X-ray photons to avoid their detrimental effects or in fact, proper shielding of the accelerator is an important issue that has to be considered in the use o...
متن کاملElectron detachment of H in collision with Ne and Ar ions
Total-electron detachment cross sections for H colliding with multiply charged Ne and Ar ions are calculated using the two-center atomic-orbital close-coupling expansion method in the center-of-mass energy range of 4–200 keV. The calculation shows that there is no core effect, and that electron capture only plays a minor role for energies above 20 keV. At 50 keV, where electron capture is not i...
متن کاملAngular distribution of Bremsstrahlung photons and of positrons for calculations of terrestrial gamma-ray flashes and positron beams
Article history: Received 14 March 2012 Received in revised form 12 March 2013 Accepted 21 March 2013 Within thunderstorms electrons can gain energies of up to hundred(s) of MeV. These electrons can create X-rays and gamma-rays as Bremsstrahlung when they collide with air molecules. Here we calculate the distribution of angles between incident electrons and emitted photons as a function of elec...
متن کاملElectron-Electron Bremsstrahlung Emission and the Inference of Electron Flux Spectra in Solar Flares
Although both electron-ion and electron-electron bremsstrahlung contribute to the hard Xray emission from solar flares, the latter is normally ignored. Such an omission is not justified at electron (and photon) energies above ∼ 300 keV, and inclusion of the additional electron-electron bremsstrahlung in general makes the electron spectrum required to produce a given hard X-ray spectrum steeper ...
متن کاملCharge transfer and excitation in slow 20 eV–2 keV H+ + D(1s) collisions
We used the recently developed hyperspherical close-coupling method to study H+ + D(1s) collisions at H+ impact energies between 20 eV and 2 keV. We showed that the cross sections for excitation and charge transfer to the 2p states are essentially identical over the whole energy range and stay relatively independent of energy from 2 keV down to about 150 eV. Below 150 eV the cross sections drop...
